All That Glitters is Gold::Leslie Hall

I was first turned on to Leslie Hall from an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba. The attraction was instant, I mean look at her. How could you now be drawn in by that hair, those gold pants and those gem sweaters! Musician, entertainer and curator of the Mobile Museum of Gem Sweaters. What is not to love. Check her out. Now.

::2012::

It is that time of year when we reflect and dream up grand plans for the coming year. Upon receiving my yearly report from WordPress, I can clearly see how I have neglected this site with lack of content. I am pledging to turn it around this year, starting now. Thanks for sticking with me over 2011 and let’s make it a great year!

We Love – Elissa Goldstone

School Supplies – Megan Whitmarsh

With a tag line like – Oscar the Grouch meet Claes Oldenburg, how could not immediately fall in love with Megan Whitmarsh’s work?

It’e never too late to learn – Mandipidy

My birthday just past. Birthday’s just suck anymore. I am not a big birthday celebrater in the first place, but with forty approaching quickly, I am even less likely to celebrate. So what did I do for my birthday? Learned how to pump gas. That’s right, I had made it 38 years without ever pumping gas. I love NJ. Need to get back before I have to do it again.

I heart NJ!

Making my own Summer – Crabby Chris

The summer here in Europe has not been too nice. I still have my tall leather boots out and always have my jacket and umbrella close by. Depressing. I am thinking this is where my current obsession grass like objects is coming from – my yearning to get outside. I guess when I can’t, this will do the trick.

Lay on the grass anytime.

Current Obsession – TED Talks

A friend recently turned me on to TED Talks. If you are not already familiar with Ted, it is a non-profit organization formed in 1984. T(echnology) E(ntertainment) D(design) brings together some the in most intuitive minds for an annual conference to discuss  “ideas worth spreading”. Each presentation is under 20 minutes and is available online to view or in podcasts. If you need some inspiration, I suggest you try it out.

A few days ago, I listened to Sir Ken Robinson from a talk in 2007 discussing how schools are killing our children’s creativity. I thought it was a great talk and plan on listening to it again. Take a listen.

DIY:Split Pea Shamrocks – Made

Let the gushing begin: I LOVE these! They are, hands – down, the cutest St. Patrick’s decorations I have seen. Simplistic, yet so versatile, this concept could easily be transformed to celebrate almost any holiday. My head is spinning with ideas.
